If you’re of a certain age, you probably remember the ultra-cheesy Ginsu commercials from the 70s and 80s, full of soda-can slicing and wood hacking and the like. I must say I hesitated to buy these because I still associate the Ginsu name with tacky infomercials. However, I needed steak knives and, frankly, the less you spend on steak knives, the more you have left to spend on steak. So I took a chance on a set of these. They’re great! They feel good in the hand, they look nice, they’re sturdy, and they’re sharp as anything. I just put another set in my shopping cart, in fact.
Incidentally, my last set of steak knives was a fancy Henckels set. They were nice; they were sharp; they lasted a few years. But the fact is, none of these newfangled serrated blades can be sharpened, and the Henckels eventually got too dull to handle a sirloin. These will get dull too, I know, in a few years of hard use. But it won’t hurt so much to pitch ‘em when they only cost me $2.50 per knife.

I was looking for a fill in basically for our flatware. These are unreal. They are SHARP and dishwasher safe. I am very happy with them. Can’t beat the price.

Shipped amazingly fast for me, within an hour or so. They are cheap and get the job done. Not cheap as in quality, just inexpensive. Was impressed with the quality for the price. Not very heavy, but well made, and dishwasher safe which is a bonus. The blade goes all the way (3/4ths) or so like pictured which is why I got them becaues a 15 piece block set of a variety of knives, those only had half of the blade serated.

So far these knives have been absolutely perfect! I gave 2 sets as a gift to go with the Wusthof Classic 8 pc set and they match quite well. For the price I don’t think you can beat these steak knives.
They are very sharp and cut well. After several uses, they are still as sharp as new, unlike many other ‘cheap’ steak knives I have had before. They are dishwasher safe but I cannot say I have washed them in the dishwasher. I prefer to always hand wash knives to make them last as long as possible.
The handle is very comfortable and as the description says, they are quite good for ‘precision’ cutting. For about $2.50 per knife, you absolutely cannot beat this set and they look quite a bit more expensive than they are. So much better than the cheap ones with the plastic handle.
