I bought these knives based on 2 good reviews, and the Henckels name. That was a huge mistake. The handles are sturdy and a nice quality, but the blades are thin and flimsy. I could buy a better quality knife in the housewares aisle of the local Safeway.
Mine started rusting after the first wash. I have owned them for about ten days, and all the knives have rust spots on the blades now. The box said they were dishwasher safe. NOT!

These looked ok but were poor quality for the price. The edge didnt last long and I was dissapointed to find out that these were made in China.

The set looks nice on the counter. The knives are much better than what I had previously, but I can’t say they are great. They are prone to spotting with mineral deposits (yes, looks like rust) in the dishwasher, so even though the handles do fine in the the dishwasher, the blades do not. They don’t stay very sharp and the balance isn’t what I would like. This is their low end set. I have a few better knives I dig out when I’m doing any serious prep work. My neighbor has the same set, and he refers to them with explitives. After 6 years I’m looking for a better set. I recently bought a stainless handled Cuisinart knife at a Ross Store for $9. Now that is a good knife for the money. Stays sharp, cleans well, and feels good in the hand. Wish I had the set.

good sharp edge. maybe a little too light in weight, so the balance is not great.
One thing I am really annoyed about is that at least 4 of the knives had rust on the cutting edges after the first month of use!!! Really thinking about sending them back to Henckel (or Amazon) for my money back.
If you have the money, spend it on the higher quality lines.
