Stainless Steel 20-inch Magnetic Knife HolderAmazon.com Review
This handy knife bar keeps cutlery within the chef’s reach above a busy prep station but still safely out of reach of little hands. The 20-inch bar is long enough to hold an entire collection of kitchen knives and is ¾ inch wide and 2 inches thick for supporting wider blades, such as cleavers. The bar is magnetic to securely hold knives, but is encased in 18/10 stainless-steel to lend an att… More >>

it was just what I wanted but it would be nice if you included directions telling someone the ends pop off for mounting

The item was extremely heavy. I’m sure it was excellent quality but it was too long for my kitchen. I thought I had a place for it but when it arrived I realized it would not fit.

…under the counter, it’s a little tricky. I bought it to save space in our “convenient” kitchen, but mounting it under the counter makes the knives hard to see. If you have the space to put it on a wall or inside a door, that would be better. Magnet strength is great, knives are very secure but make sure they are seated fully on the magnet.

The MIU Stainless-Steel Magnetic Knife Holder secures tightly to the wall and holds all my knives and scissors. I am grateful for the previous reviews that alerted me to the fact that I needed to pop off the plastic end pieces for easy installation.

This was purchased to replace a 12″ magnetic bar, which was getting dangerously crowded. I am really pleased and impressed; the bar is made almost entirely of steel (from the pictures I thought some parts might be plastic). Front surface is polished, frame is satin, if this matters any. If you’re drilling into drywall, don’t even think of skipping the wall anchors (included) – this bar is HEAVY. It fits all my knives, a Microplane grater, scissors and honing steel, with just a little room to spare. I didn’t see any instructions, but it’s not difficult to figure out – 2 plastic pieces on the ends hide screw holes and can be removed to insert screws, then replaced afterward. The price is very reasonable for the quality; I saw a Global knife magnet selling for $175 – now that’s outrageous! Besides being roomy and functional, it also looks really sleek.
