Wüsthof 10-Inch Sharpening Steel How can it be bad? It is made of a handle and has a circular piece of steel running up the center. There are no moving parts, no batteries to replace, limitless shelf life, nothing to go wrong. I am quite sure that after several centuries of use, it will need replacement. It is a quality item and unless you are wildly uncoordinated will get the job done.

This is the first steel I’ve ever used, so I based my purchase on the reviews. I’m not disappointed; a couple of swipes and my knives are sharp and ready for duty. The handle is quite comfortable. I hope this steel holds up for many years.
