This is a well balanced throwing knife, very sharp - my husband was able to shave the hair off of his arm! We also chopped down a 2 inch tree branch with the knife and it's still sharp. The only down side is that after only a few throws the black starts wearing off so it doesn't look as nice as when we bought it. But over all a great knife, it would also be perfect for a 72 hour kit or emergency supply kit.

I bought three of these particularly because I wanted to learn a flat throw. And they are great. Because I throw 3 at a time, the cord wrap was cut by other knives pretty quickly. It has a leather wrap under the cord that I discarded and duplicated the double twist wrap with regular paracord. It takes almost 12 feet of paracord and about 10 minutes. And the lack of a wrap doesn't affect the throw. You could use it for throwing without the wrap but if you also want to use it as a utility knife, the wrap makes it more comfortable to handle.
The edge gets badly dinged by the other knives but that's not the knife's fault. I also managed to drive the point of one into something hard enough to flatten it back about an eighth of an inch. I stoned in a new point and we're ready to go.
I suppose it would spin throw well enough but I haven't practiced it.
It's quite a bit heavier than even my large Hibben throwers which is fine for me.
I like the nylon sheath. The plastic reinforcers at the tip prevent punch out and the nylon doesn't hold moisture. It's not fancy but it's all that I want.
All around it's a great knife.
I did find that my CRKT Hisatu is easier to throw. But that knife is not made for throwing and is just too expensive and hard (I think it might break) to throw much.

I love this knife. I was using one of those crappy sets of three throwing knives previously, and I had actually spent more on them then I did on the CS! The knife itself is phenomenal. It is perfectly balanced, and maintains an edge rather well. I wouldn't use it as a combat or survival blade, but you certainly could. This knife provides hours of enjoyment for my friends and I in my backyard. Highly recommended!!!!!

Though I'm new to throwing I found this knife easy to throw after I figured out how. I stand about 12-13 ft away and throw by the tip keeping the blade and arm in line with each other. In other words don't bend or flick your wrist. The knife will spin as slowly as possible this way which is more forgiving. It will rotate 1/2 turn in about 12 ft. I tried the new spin technique but no luck.

As for the knife it spins nice and slow because it's big. Yes, it's a bit of a challenge for small people but my wife can throw it just as well as I can. The blade is very strong and sharpens easily after you ding it on rocks. It would take a lot to bend it. I have batoned with it to split wood and it is tough. The grip is ok but not the best as a replacement for a general purpose knife. Will work in a pinch or survival situation. I wish the rope was orange as it's hard to find if you miss the target. The sheath is decent. I pulled the strap off because it stayed in the sheath well without it.

I was hiking with some friends kids and I stopped near a dead tree, pulled out my knife and whipped it into the tree with a solid thud. The kids all went Whoa! Can I try?

Knife throwing is a fun hobby but please don't throw at live trees. Respect the forest and teach your kids to respect it too. There are plenty of dead trees around. Get three, it's more fun. Thanks.
